Principles of Naturopathic Medicine:

  • First, do no harm.

  • Select appropriate healing compounds that will enable your body to do the healing—i.e. dietary supplements, herbal tinctures, acupuncture and homeopathy—with few or no side effects.

  • Avoid suppressing symptoms when possible. Learn to interpret patterns from symptoms, as they are the body’s efforts to self-heal.

  • Treat the individual, not the disease— No two patients are treated alike.

  • Naturopathic doctors seek to be teachers, as well as physicians— the essence of preventative medicine

  • Treat the whole person, to factor in physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, sexual and spiritual elements that make each person an individual.

  • Prevent illness. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. Being proactive in the long-run saves time, energy, money, and pain, while promoting longevity, a sense of empowerment and overall wellness.
